off on a fresh start!

Published by jennk under Everyday

Beginning the fall semester has always been an exciting time for me… a clean slate! It’s new classes, the beginning of a new season… and this semester, the beginning of blogging! I was a bit hesitant at first to start my page but now that I have a title and theme (and now my first post!) it is becoming more and more exciting.

I chose the title “the four-leaf clover” for a few reasons… I am Irish — the red hair doesn’t give that away at all– and it’s also a common good luck charm. I read that each leaf represents something different, the first is for hope, the second is for faith, the third is for love and the fourth is for luck. I need these four things in my life everyday to be successful and happy in school and my career.

I have a good feeling about this semester and am looking forward to what I will learn. I was ready to jump back into the groove of classes after taking the summer to re-group and I realized what I needed to do to make the most out of this program and my experience. Since I came straight from my undergrad to my masters I needed those months as a break and now feel that I can begin to absorb all I can from professors and classmates. I expect to learn and relate more between my studies and working, and take what I get from readings and exercises and apply them outside the classroom. I want to really get a feel for how adult learners work with each other and especially at my job and how I can better facilitate them if needed.

So, relating back to my four-leaf clover… good luck everyone and it’s going to be a great semester!
